ELISE'S #GreatGinTonic WITH TONIC WATER

  • 2 oz The Great Jamaican Tonic Water
  • 2.5 oz Cirka Gin Sauvage
  • 0.5 oz Star anis & cinnamon syrup
  • 0.75 oz grapefruit juice
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anises
  • 1 orange wedge
  • Ice

To make the cinnamon & star anise syrup:
Add 3 cups of water and 3 cups sugar to a saucepan. Add 2 sticks of cinnamon and 3 star anises. Boil and let simmer over medium heat for a couple of minutes. Let cool until room temperature and strain.

Pour the gin and the cinnamon & star anise syrup in a lowball glass. Add ice. Float the grapefruit juice over ice. Add the Tonic Water. Top if off with the dashes of Angostura bitters. Garnish with 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anis and an orange wedge.
